Pasar Malam

It’s been ages since i last ventured to a pasar malam in KL. Sure i do patron the Tronoh Pasar Malam on occasions. But this pasar malam at Taman Yulek, Cheras was really humongous. There were so many stalls uphill downhill like a never ending maze.So yeah, walked for one and a half hours with my parents to kill time while waiting for my sister to finish her tuition class.

There were plenty of things on sale, be it clothing, food, vegetable or fruits. So much to see and so much to choose from. We finally gave in to the temptation and got some fruits, had a bowl of ‘asam laksa’, buns and some vegetables. To top it all up, the three of us shared one bowl of red bean soup and one bowl of ‘lin zhi gang’.

the array of vegetables available at one of the stalls

I must mention that there were so many durian stalls all over the pasar malam. But none were as fragrant as the one sold at the Pudu morning market. Will try to coax my mom into getting some the next time we drop by the morning market.

The Birthday Cake from Bread History

A special post dedicated to my dad. Happy Birthday DAD!! Thank you for everything you’ve done but most importantly thanks for being there for us all the time. Love you always

Hope you enjoyed the dinner dishes that Mom and I prepared. A rather tedious preparation and cooking process to get everything just right.

Steamed Cod Fish

Steamed Chicken

vege fried with anchovies - sorry, only know the vege's name in cantonese

And of course, the most important part of the surprise would be the present and the birthday cake..

Goodbye ‘Subways’

Crambo Club Sandwich

Grabbed a quick bite with a friend while waiting for some other friends to arrive 2 days back. We were initially looking for Subways initially. Unfortunately, they didn’t have an outlet at Sunway Pyramid. Thus, we opted to go for O’Briens sandwiches instead. After going through a slight dilemma of having to choose between the Chicken Tripledeck or the Crambo Club, we finally opted for the latter.

As we took the first bite of our sandwich, it was simply the most AWESOME  sandwich both of us had ever tasted. We decided there and then that it was goodbye to ‘Subways’ and switching to become die hard fans of O' Briens

11 Years of Memories

Made a visit back to my old school Convent Bukit Nanas located at the end of Jalan Gereja just beneath the KL Towers. Was just a short drop by to wait for my sister and pick her up from school. Sitting down at the Red Hall, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the 11 years I spent in that 110 year old school. Watching the primary school children playing and running around with their friends brought back so many memories of the good old days gone by. Happened to have my camera with me that time and took a candid shot.

Ordered this desert at Dragon-i with a friend a few days ago. Looked so cute that I couldn’t resist taking some pictures of it. Rest assured that it tastes as good as it looks. (It comes in a serving of 3 pieces per plate)

Sushi + Movie + Carls Jr

Finally, I got to eat Sushi after coming back to KL for almost 3 weeks. Well, the fact that only me and my sister enjoys sushi and Japanese food in every single aspect, my parents are not really a great fan of it. Therefore, Japanese food would be one of the last few choices when we go out to have  family meal.

Tripple Cheese Maki

So anyway, after having a little bit of a dilemma on what to have for lunch, we finally opted to go for Sakae Sushi after getting our movie tickets. The best choice we ever made I suppose as there was a special offer going on for Soft Shell Crab dishes. The three of us being rather great fans of soft shell crabs made full use of this wonderful opportunity ^_^

For those of you who have yet to try it, I urge you all to go try it. We had to stop ourselves from grabbing more plates off the belt. Although our heads were telling us “That’s enough now. You’re gonna explode if you have some more”, our stomachs were telling us “Another one or two more won’t do any harm”

Like growing kids, we were hungry again after laughing so much from our super hilarious one hour plus movie. so off we went hunting for food again. This time we settled for Carls Jr. Another simply sinful meal then commenced.

 Beef Chili Chese Fries

The whole outing was more of like an eating spree outing. Like refugees which were deprived of food for weeks. Definitely sinful to eat so much in a day, but then guess doing some harm once in a purple moon can be forgiven provided some proper workout is done before or after the eating spree.

PS : This post was delayed because I was trying to post it via Windows Live Writer. Encountered some glitches along the way, but I’m happy to say that I finally manage to iron things out. So there you have it, my first successful post with Windows Live Writer. Hoping for many more to commence.

Oh! Happy Day

And thus marks the ending of another eventful and happy day.

Even though several unplanned agendas made it's way at the very last minute into my schedule, I'm still glad with the way things turned out. The highlight of the day being my outing with my two cousins (Kimberly and John). On the whole, it was simply wonderful, we watched a movie which was super duper hillarious, and oh so sweet! Got 'leng chai' acting sumore making me and my cousin sister squeel and giggle like high school teenage girls for some of the scenes.

For the time spent with them, it was definitely worth the effort required for all the hardwork I had to put in for the unplanned agendas which include
1. Becoming driver to market - as my dad's car broke down on the way there
2. Becoming 'kuli' to help carry all the vege, meat, and fish!!

Despite all that I can still gladly say, it has been, a Happy Day.

More updates on the outing in the next post. ^_^

Siamese Seafood Laksa

Another busy day helping my Mom with her business again. Today's task entails being

1. The 'kuli' to load and unload products
2. Walking + talking GPS
3. Part time sales girl
4. My mom's full time driver.

But like I said before, working for my mom pays quite well actually. Not only did I get a rather generous allowance, and get to drive my Mom's car, the Volvo - the German Tank as we call it, I was also treated to a super delicious bowl of Siamese Seafood Laksa at a place called 'Sisters Kitchen'
located at Hap Seng Building [Opposite the UBN Towers].

The Laksa part of the set lunch menu and is served in a generous portion with lots of seafood in it. Nyumm nyuumm. And since it is part of the Set Lunch package, it is served with

1. Drinks - Choice of Coffee/Tea/Ice Lemon Tea
2. Dessert - 2 pieces of dessert of the day

Something that's definitely worth a try. For those of you who are interested to try it out, 'Sisters Kitchen' is located on the 2nd floor of Hap Seng Building.

Another busy day completed.

Went from Maxis Tower --> Pavillion Shopping Mall --> Sri Petaling [Gramps House] --> Setapak

Fortunately, the reward for being the driver of my mom pays rather well. I got to eat half a portion of my favourite 'la mien'. But most importantly, I had half a piece of one of my favourite goodie in a which is placed in a very prominent yellow box..

I'm sure most of you know whats in it.
Yes! It's Jco Donuts. Yummy yummy ~~
Ecstatic!! Thanks for the treat Mom!!

Have to run more laps tomorrow to make up for the sinfulness of those wonderful Goodies in the box.

Super Hazy KL

On a clear day, I should be able to see way past the old airport runway.

Woke up full of disappointments this morning. The haze was back in KL. Which in other words mean that I can't go running at the KLCC park. (T_T)

Was so looking forward to it. But guess it can't be helped with all the haze blowing it. Might be more harmful for me to run than to make a pass on it. Hoping that the weather will be better tomorrow morning.

Contentment ^_^

One of my favourite books of all time. I seriously can't remember when was the last time I've curled up in my favourite spot and read through a whole [non academic] book from cover to cover. Sure, I can read mystery or fictional books from time to time. But the idea of becoming a dreamy eyed romantic with any Sandra Brown book always appeal to me more than any other books.

Honestly, I cannot remember how many times I've read this book already. At least 5 times if I recall correctly. But somehow, the lines in this book never fails to fill me with heartfelt emotion each time. I guess deep down every girl wishes to have a happy ending story like so many story books often tell.

Here's to wishing fantasies and dreams can become realities.

*Wistful thinking mood*

~~Home Sweet Home Again~~

I'm finally finally back at my home sweet home again. It's really great to be back home although I do have plenty of things to be completed by the end of my semester break. Among them of course would me by long way from completion Final Year 'Problem' (FYP) as how Ivan used to call it.

So far I've managed to accomplish quite a number of things which are
1) Set up the wireless router in my home --> Hurrah! Finally, I don't have to wait for my turn to use the LAN cable
2) Got my car cleaned and washed
3) Unpack some of my stuff that I've brought back from UTP
4) Gone jogging at KLCC park (a couple of times already counting today)
5) Gone Wall Climbing
6) Updated my blog of course
7) Updated my facebook pictures (do check out the Penang trip and Cameron Trip pictures)
8) Eat my favourite 'Bak Kut Teh' and 'Hakka Mee' ---> Nyumm nyumm

I can't recall anything else to add to the list. But anyway, there are still a couple of things which I need to start working on throughout the remainder of the semester break such as
1) My Final Year 'Problem' a.k.a Final Year Project
2) Continue jogging in preparation for the Standard Charted Marathon coming up real soon
3) Watch all the new movies (e.g. Terminator Salvation, Monsters vs. Aliens)
4) Re-format my computer again
5) Becoming the MC for my ex-boss' wedding lunch event [That's the latest addition to the list]
6) Clearing up and removing the unnecessary things accumulated in my room

Of course there will numerous other add hoc things to be done for myself, my mom and around the house. Just hope there will be enough time to finish all that I wish to accomplish throughout the semester break.

Wish Me Luck!!
