Will get back to the Taiwan trip official post after this.. for now, let’s fast forward to this outing with my girlfriends. It’s definitely been a while since I went on a trip with them. So this outing has given us a great opportunity to catch up, have fun together and take lots and lots of photos for memories. Many thanks to Win Ann who extended the invitation to us – including Natalie ^_^

 

 

I took a total of 636 shots on my camera for that trip.. A real record breaker, considering it’s a one day trip. So after several times of filtering, I finally managed to reduce it to approximately 447 shots. We visited quite a number of places for a one day trip.

Didn’t realise that it has been more than a month since my last post. Been rather busy for the past few weeks so do forgive me on my tardiness for updating.

Amidst the hustle and bustle of everything, I don’t really recall the details of everything that has happened over the last month so lets just skip straight to the highlight of the month for me. My trip to TAIWAN!!

 

 

Taiwan was simply an eating haven especially considering the fact that my favourite dish, Mr Porky Pork is served everywhere and anytime of the day in so many different styles. Didn’t manage to go around much to see the famous landmarks of Taiwan though, but had great fun all the same. Thanks to the great company of people and also the fun filled activities which were carried out for the whole of Challenge Camp.

 

 

The 8 days in Taiwan really gave me a chance to brush up and improve my spoken Mandarin. I only spoke 10-20% of English throughout the whole stay and communicated mostly in Mandarin. Although, I’m still hopeless for both reading and writing but I guess I survived. ^_^

My initial plan for the weekend was to go back to UTP for Euphonious and subsequently just hang out with Debbie and Meili – probably go for a movie and have a makan session or something. Before I go any further, Euphonious was wonderful and definitely lived up to expectations.

During the show, it was clearly seen that ‘Salmah and the Swingers’ band would most likely emerge as the Champion due to their bombastic performance. This however did not dampen spirits of the remaining seven bands to continue competing for the 1st runner up position.

“Being number 2 is the new number 1” just like “Pink is the new Black”

Congratulations to ‘Sour Stripes’ band members who emerged as the the first runner up and were bold enough to show everyone that PINK is indeed the new BLACK. ^_^

So as I was saying, the initial plan WAS

However, at the spur of the moment, we all decided to make a trip up to our favourite highlands – Camerons instead…  ^_^

So we just packed a change of clothes for the night, grabbed the camera, car keys and off we went to Camerons stopping along the way for McD breakfast. Driving up there was a decision we did not regret.

 

 

 

The weather was wonderful, the food was great and the view was absolutely breathtaking as always. At least it was for us and that’s all that counts.

On the whole, a great weekend, with great company of friends which made the whole trip back to Ipoh worthwhile. Can’t wait for our next outing session together.

 

Travelled a total of 58000++ kilometres with this old faithful car of mine. From convoy drives to almost every part of Malaysia, to just simply getting around university and on occasions. going out for mamak sessions. Many memories come to mind whenever I get behind the wheel.

This car has not only been a medium of transport but also provided refuge when I needed a quiet spot. And also not forgetting, the numerous occasions when it became a sanctuary for discussion or ber-emo among close friends while on a drive.

So much of laughter, joy, tears, consolation, encouragement and ambition were shared amongst friends in this car. Some who were ‘fair weathered’ friends, some friends of opportunity.. But the most important of all are most definitely the trustworthy and true friends who were with me through the many uncountable adventures we had with this car.

Here’s to cherishing the fond memories with my little Kembara car. ^_^

 

My first trip to East Malaysia, Sarawak to be more exact can only be described as awesome. Sad to say, being a born and bred Malaysian, this has been my first trip to East Malaysia..  :-P  Better late than never I suppose.



There was a good combination of socializing, relaxing, visiting and of course, not forgetting eating. I definitely put on a few kilos those few days in Sibu and Kuching. Never mind, suppose will just have to work harder to burn off those extra calories. After all, since I’ve already travelled the distance there, might as well take the opportunity to try out as much as I can.  ^_^



Spent about 2 and a half days in Sibu staying at a friends house. Had two day temporary ownership of someone’s car to move around and about. A very cute car which brought us for many adventures around town. With me being the chauffeur of course. We had a good share of both home cooked food and outside food.



From there, took a 25 minute flight to Kuching – really efficient pilot for that flight, we arrived 20 minutes earlier than scheduled. Here there was even more food to be found. Also got a special treat at The Sarawak Club on my birthday. The food was marvellous. I’m getting hungry again thinking of it.




Did some walking around on my own on the last day at Kuching. Went to the main tourist attractions around Kuching such as the Sarawak Museum, Cat Museum, and the Orchid farm. Also took a drive past both the old and new Parliament Buildings on the way to the Orchid Farm.

 

Lastly, headed over to waterfront and took a slow walk back to the inn where I was staying. Took a rather long time to get back not because of the distance but rather, because I was busy snapping pictures. The price to pay for that was a sun tan which has part of my arm looking chocolate colour and vanilla color



Oh yes, among one of the best things that happened in Kuching was that I managed to meet up with Tania… Yeay!!!! A big thanks for bringing us to church, dinner and around Tania. And of course, thanks for introducing us to the wonderful Sarawak Laksa. Think the four of really outdid ourselves by eating the

• 3 bowls of Sarawak Laksa,
• 2 bowls of Mee Kolo,
• 1 fried tomato mee,
• the foo chow rice flour thingy,
• Pork Sate and
• 3 cups of 3 layer teh si ping….

[Apologies, didn’t manage to take any good shots for this meal so I gave up and just concentrated on eating.  T_T ]

Sarawak was definitely a wonderful place to go. A memorable trip to be treasured for sure.

 

Just randomly took a shot out of the KTM window on the ride back to Batu Gajah from KL Sentral. Somehow I’m always attracted to take pictures of the blue blue sky with cotton wool like clouds. ^_^

Just sharing some pictures that I took at Damai Laut for a project visit.. A trial and error effort here. ^_^

Just some basic background for some of you who might be wondering where on earth this place is. Damai Laut is in fact a 4-star golf and spa country resort located in Lumut, Perak. One of the best places to stay for a relaxing, calm and quiet retreat with easy access to Pangkor Island. The drive to get there is rather winding and it’s approximately a 8km drive off the main road. You might be wondering if you’ll land up in a jungle during the drive but trust me, the place is actually quite fantastic and like a little fully equipped village on it’s own.
