Funny Scene At The Market

Since my dad was having a seminar today, so i had the very 'early in the morning' task of accompanying my mother to the market to get supplies for the week.

So off we went to Imbi market, which as the name indicates is somewhere around Imbi. Bought the usual vege and tofu and some bananas. The final stop was at the butcher's area which was located somewhere at the back area of the market. And this my friends, was where the funny scene happened.

My mom told Mr. butcher (duno what his name is), that she would like some minced meat with preferrably less fats on it. For the benefit of those who's abit lost at this point, normallyminced meat is done with a mixture of fat and lean meat. However, if you request for less fat minced meat, they'll normally cut the part that you want from the big big piece of meat and mince it up on the spot for you. Interesting process really.

Well, this butcher did something that was rather out of the norm and in my opinion rather funny. After getting my mom's order, he raised up his arm (with the big cleaver knife in hand) and marched down to the other end of the stall which was about 7 feet away cleaver high up above all the way. Okay, it did shock me and probably some of the other customers in that crowded area with that marching off to war expression of his. He cut the meat and marched back to us cleaver high up for the whole distance of 7 feet away. But i suppose he meant well, because by putting the cleaver high up like that (and having a firm hold on it of course), he can be very sure he won't accidentally injure or slice an unsuspecting customer along the way.

Phew, that was one scary butcher march.
