Saw a set lunch promotion for this place online and decided to give it a try with Sze Yuin. As the restaurant is located right next to the grounds of the Royal Selangor Golf Course, it somehow lends a very laid back ambience complete with a rather country feel about it especially outdoors.

So then, here’s what we had for lunch.

First up are the Appetizers.
Complimentary Bread to be Dipped in the mixture of Vinegar and Olive Oil

My selection of Appetizers from the Buffet spread.. There isn't a limitiation as to how much we can take but I wasn't sure of the main course portion size so I decided to be moderate with the quantity.

Followed by the Main Course.

Spaghetti with Carbonara. The Carbonara Sauce consists of turkey ham, parmesan cheese, egg yok and cream. The sauce is very thick and rich making an excellent combination when served with the springy spaghetti.
Capricciosa Pizza. As you can see, there'is a generous amount of topping for the pizza. These include tomato, cheese, olives, artichokes and turkey ham

And finally, the Glorious Desserts.
Tiramisu. Served with whipped cream. Not too sweet nor too heavy on the coffee taste. Just the right combination

Panna Cotta. - My personal favourite among the two- A dessert from Italian cooked cream served with caramel. Despite it’s soft and fluffy look, it is in actual fact rather bouncy in texture. The best part is that it melts in your mouth creating a blend of wonderful flavour.

For those of you who are interested to try out the set lunch some time, perhaps it would be wise to first have a peek at the menu to help you decide which set lunch to take.

The address of the restaurant is as follows

I was first introduced to the Delicious chain of restaurants last year. However, over the past month I’ve been revisiting a couple of times with different groups of people for one reason or another. Mainly for the desserts I suppose. Everything on the menu sounds rather ‘to die for’. My personal favourite is the Applicious Pie and the Macadamian Cheesecake.

Macadamian Cheesecake

A word of advice though if you’re planning to try our their desserts. Don’t order too many at one go because you’re probably going to have to share out the portion among friends especially after all the yummy entrées and sumptuous main course. So here goes – a combined entry of the few visits to Delicious over the past month

Phone PMS

My pink LG clamshell phone [the temp phone before the Nokia C5] decided to go on a PMS strike for the past one week or so. It just refused to let me make or receive calls, and send or receive sms. However, the SIM card seems to be working fine on any other phone. – Must be jealous of the other phone getting all the attention now.

So as a desperate measure, I opted to a full reset of the phone’s setting as a last resort. Much to my relief, it is now in perfect working order. But to my despair, everything is in Mandarin – as this phone was a free gift from a relative in Hong Kong therefore causing the default preset language to be Mandarin. Aaahhhh!!!! On top of that, my written Mandarin is totally HOPELESS!!!!!  - the downsides of being a banana-breed Chinese..

T_______T

Time to do some trial and error in changing back the language to English.. wish me luck.

Shrek – The Final Chapter

Sherk - Forever after posterA

Treated my family to Shrek on Friday evening. Very worth watching, even if it’s just to laugh your head off with the familiar and well loved characters. At the same time, it’s also a refreshment course for philosophies and values of life.

The creators of Shrek have done a great job by giving the story line an interesting twist and adding in characters like Rumpelstiltskin. Puss in Boots has a slightly ‘different’ appearance in this movie, but he’s still so adorable with those ‘big-round-pitiful-begging-eyes’. I shall refrain from further elaborating the story line to avoid spoilers for those of you who have not watch yet.

Shrek-1

Oh yes, two words have been stuck with me since watching the movie. Still have me giggling to myself when I think of it

1)  Ri-donk-ulous  [Ridiculous]

2)  Cat-tastrophe [Catastrophe]
