Pasar Malam

It’s been ages since i last ventured to a pasar malam in KL. Sure i do patron the Tronoh Pasar Malam on occasions. But this pasar malam at Taman Yulek, Cheras was really humongous. There were so many stalls uphill downhill like a never ending maze.So yeah, walked for one and a half hours with my parents to kill time while waiting for my sister to finish her tuition class.

There were plenty of things on sale, be it clothing, food, vegetable or fruits. So much to see and so much to choose from. We finally gave in to the temptation and got some fruits, had a bowl of ‘asam laksa’, buns and some vegetables. To top it all up, the three of us shared one bowl of red bean soup and one bowl of ‘lin zhi gang’.

the array of vegetables available at one of the stalls

I must mention that there were so many durian stalls all over the pasar malam. But none were as fragrant as the one sold at the Pudu morning market. Will try to coax my mom into getting some the next time we drop by the morning market.

The Birthday Cake from Bread History

A special post dedicated to my dad. Happy Birthday DAD!! Thank you for everything you’ve done but most importantly thanks for being there for us all the time. Love you always

Hope you enjoyed the dinner dishes that Mom and I prepared. A rather tedious preparation and cooking process to get everything just right.

Steamed Cod Fish

Steamed Chicken

vege fried with anchovies - sorry, only know the vege's name in cantonese

'Char Siew' fresh from morning market

And of course, the most important part of the surprise would be the present and the birthday cake..

Goodbye ‘Subways’

Crambo Club Sandwich

Grabbed a quick bite with a friend while waiting for some other friends to arrive 2 days back. We were initially looking for Subways initially. Unfortunately, they didn’t have an outlet at Sunway Pyramid. Thus, we opted to go for O’Briens sandwiches instead. After going through a slight dilemma of having to choose between the Chicken Tripledeck or the Crambo Club, we finally opted for the latter.

As we took the first bite of our sandwich, it was simply the most AWESOME  sandwich both of us had ever tasted. We decided there and then that it was goodbye to ‘Subways’ and switching to become die hard fans of O' Briens

11 Years of Memories

Made a visit back to my old school Convent Bukit Nanas located at the end of Jalan Gereja just beneath the KL Towers. Was just a short drop by to wait for my sister and pick her up from school. Sitting down at the Red Hall, I couldn’t help but reminisce about the 11 years I spent in that 110 year old school. Watching the primary school children playing and running around with their friends brought back so many memories of the good old days gone by. Happened to have my camera with me that time and took a candid shot.
